Friends of the Festival Campaign Begins

Thanks to generous financial contributions, the annual North Iowa Band Festival remains a free family event. The North Iowa Band Festival Foundation recently announced its annual “Friends of the Festival” fundraising campaign.

In 1936, the Mason City Chamber of Commerce started a simple celebration of North Iowa’s musical heritage. Over the past eight decades, the festival has grown to a multi-day celebration complete with a parade, wide variety of entertainment, marching band competitions, concessions, and a carnival. Costs associated with this large event continue to increase.

To assist with maintaining the annual festival, charitable contributions in any amount can be sent to “Friends of the Festival” at 9 N Federal Ave in Mason City. For more information, contact North Iowa Band Festival Coordinator Kativa Weitzel at 641-423-5724. Visit www.nibandfest.com frequently for updated information including major sponsors, parade details, and the full entertainment schedule.

The North Iowa Band Festival Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization with a mission to provide a weekend of wholesome family entertainment at little or no cost to the family; to promote and celebrate the rich musical heritage of North Iowa; and to provide an atmosphere which showcases young musicians who are becoming a part of that heritage.
