The State of North Iowa

The State of North Iowa is an opportunity to hear directly from city and county leadership from Mason City, Clear Lake, and Greater North Iowa as they highlight recent accomplishments, outline future goals, and offer ideas about current business and community issues. This event complements the Vision North Iowa strategic planning efforts.

2020 Recap

A local panel which included Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel, Clear Lake Mayor Nelson Crabb, County Supervisor Tim Latham, and North Iowa Corridor EDC President Chad Schreck, shared their perspective on North Iowa's current state and where it is headed into the future.

To kick off the event, attendees viewed The State of North Iowa video: "This is North Iowa" and reflected on a year of growth through The State of North Iowa Dashboard.

Debi Durham, who serves as Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Finance Authority was the keynote at this event. Durham was recently named by the Des Moines Business Record as one of the “Most Influential Business Leaders” and a “Woman of Influence.” She has also received the “Legislative Advocacy Leader” award.
