Witness the marching rhythm of “76 Trombones” at Mason City’s North Iowa Band Festival. During North Iowa Band Festival, the community rolls out the red carpet and becomes “River City USA” as portrayed by Meredith Willson. Throughout the festival, the city celebrates the vast musical heritage of the area and honors Meredith Willson's love of music by featuring rock n' roll, country, jazz, pop and classic selections. Historically, about 25 marching bands perform on Saturday and also compete for the honor of the North Iowa Band Festival Meredith Willson Award. This wholesome family-oriented musical festival also features a crafts show, carnival, car show and all different types of food. There is truly something for everyone.
