When the Band Festival Committee cancelled the 2020 festival due to COVID-19 concerns, they vowed the festival would be back bigger and better than ever in 2021. No one could’ve predicted the long-term impact the pandemic would have on, well, everything.
The committee is busy planning the 82nd North Iowa Band Festival, with some adjustments and some tentative scheduling. The festival theme reflects our challenging times: Banding Together and Marching Forward. Longtime committee member and local artist Jim Zach eagerly took on the challenge to quickly design a new logo for the festival—and captured the spirit perfectly!
Plans are progressing for the Saturday morning parade. For the safety of participants and spectators, all hand-outs (candy, flyers, trinkets) will be prohibited this year. Placement in the parade is based upon receipt of the entry Parade Form 2021.
