"Cupola" (pronounced "KYOO puh luh") is defined as "a small dome or similar structure on a roof."

A lighted cupola tops the Cupola Inn, an immaculately refurbished farm building featuring extremely quiet rooms for your privacy and enjoyment.

Only three miles from Mason City, IA, the Cupola Inn is surrounded by a huge, wrap-around 850 sq. ft porch where you can relax and enjoy the country air. On those cool evenings, warm yourself by the fire ring outside in a garden filled with beautiful flowers.

Cupola Inn Bed & Breakfast

Just down the lane is the scenic, rushing Winnebago River, with limestone outcroppings and bluffs beckoning you for walks, sunning, fishing, or relaxing reflection. You can also enjoy a complimentary canoe trip.

Take refreshing winter hikes or cross country ski on the frozen river, pausing for close up looks at caves cut into the limestone bluffs.

Stable your horse in our lot or barn and take rides in the countryside. Consider a tractor-drawn group hay ride around the area.

Follow the flowered path out to the round barn made completely of recycled materials. The lime rock on the bottom half of this building came from a barn built in the 1860's. The interior lumber came from a hog house built in 1923. Inside you will find a massive round table made out of floor joists from an old barn, that services as a group breakfast area or can be used as a meeting area.

Stay in one of our four beautiful rooms decorated with authentic barn wood trim and doors, framed art, hand-painted country antiques, quilted country scene wall hangings, and unique headboards.

The Loft
In this cozy room decorated by a wall hanging featuring many barns, you'll snuggle under a quilt beneath genuine barn rafters.

The Roost
Only the "cock-a-doodle-do" is missing from this sunrise room, decorated with roosters. A unique barn sash headboard and antique doilies accent the room.

The Parlor

Guests enjoy a farm garden theme complete with picket fence and trellis, and experience evening tranquility with a view of the setting sun.

The Cupola Room
You will certainly sleep late in the draped bed and enjoy classic prints by local artists.

Each of the four rooms features:

• handicapped accessibility • in-room breakfast at the time you request
• private bath with whirlpool tub • continental or full breakfast, prepared by a professional baker
• queen-sized bed • cozy, comfortable reading area
• refreshment basket • plentiful parking, indoor if needed
